Extend the life of your battery by getting into the habit of turning off all the lights, rear window heater and radio before turning off the engine of the car.To check the state of din car battery, look for signs of cracks or other physical damage to the battery case and corrosion on the connections of large battery cables. A cracked battery must be changed immediately as electrolyte leakage is a mixture of sulfuric acid and water.
Top up battery with distilled water when it is necessary to ensure that the electrolyte level in each cell over the plates. If you have a maintenance battery you can skip the battery water, but you still need to check that the battery is secured and terminals are corrosion.
